Kindness is definitely the word of the week in room 108!  We've been talking about kindness, reading books about kindness, and most importantly, committing acts of kindness!  We created a Kindness Corner on Monday and students have worked hard this week to fill it with kindness hearts full of all the kind and helpful things they are doing while at school.  If you have any good book recommendations that focus on kindness, we'd love it if you'd pass the titles on to us!
In science we are continuing to experiment with balance and counterweights.  Students have been experimenting with all kinds of materials and are drawing and writing about their scientific findings in their science journals.
In math we are focusing on our addition and subtraction fact fluency to 20, as well as adding and subtracting 2 digit numbers.
Students have started creating How To books in writers workshop.  This week we've focused on drawing soomed-in, detailed teaching pictures and using transition words to keep the steps organized.
